Troop 202 BSA Cyber Chip and Electronics Policy Program

Posted on Feb 25 2017 - 8:41pm

Hello Scouts,

As you know, during the Troop Meeting Monday, February 27th, we are beginning a Cyber Chip program. This program will start you on the process of earning or recharging your Cyber Chip and is the first step to receiving a Troop Electronics Chip (the privilege to carry electronic devices to Troop events). Remember you must be First Class Rank eligible for an Electronics Chip. However, Scouts that are working towards First Class should complete the Cyber Chip program in preparation for completing the Electronics Chip when they make First Class Rank (the Cyber Chip must be recharged every year) – it won’t be long before you are all First Class Scouts.

High Adventure Spring Outing (Canoeing)

Posted on Feb 21 2017 - 8:44pm

We will be canoeing down the Cape Fear River for our Spring High Adventure Outing. This will include navigating through a few small rapids Saturday before arriving at Raven Rock State Park where we will camp overnight, before continuing further down the river on Sunday. There will be the opportunity to fish at Raven Rock State Park if you have a valid North Carolina fishing license and would like to bring a rod. We will be departing early from Saint Francis on Saturday, April 1st. The estimated cost is $65, however this cost is likely to go down depending on how many scouts sign up to go. Please sign up as soon as possible so we can get an accurate count to reserve the boats. This will be great practice for those going to Northern Tier this summer, and great fun for everyone else.
